'MS Dhoni hurled abuses during IPL’ -- Former CSK bowler reveals Chennai Super Kings legend’s angry side image

MS Dhoni has long been celebrated as one of cricket's calmest leaders and is admired for his composure even in high-pressure moments. Yet, those who have shared a dressing room with him know there have been rare flashes of anger behind the cool exterior.

Former India pacer Mohit Sharma who played several seasons under Dhoni at Chennai Super Kings, recently shared an incident from the Champions League T20 that showed a very different side of the CSK captain.

Mohit Sharma recalls MS Dhoni's angry outburst in CLT20

In a conversation with CricTracker, Mohit revealed that a mix-up during a CLT20 match against Kolkata Knight Riders led to Dhoni losing his temper. The pacer mistakenly thought Dhoni had called him to bowl when in fact the skipper wanted Ishwar Pandey.

By the time the confusion was cleared, Mohit had already started his run-up - forcing the umpire to let him continue the over.

"He lost his cool at me and abused me. I took Yusuf Pathan's wicket on the first ball, but during the celebration, Mahi bhai was still hurling abuses," Mohit said with a laugh.

Despite the heated moment, Mohit stressed that Dhoni was an influential figure in shaping his career and outlook. He described how time spent with Dhoni often turned into life lessons with the veteran skipper sharing wisdom that extended beyond cricket.

"He teaches how cricket can make a kind human," Mohit added.

Mohit joined CSK in 2013 and quickly became one of Dhoni's trusted bowlers. He won the Purple Cap in 2014 with 23 wickets - finishing his first three seasons with 57 wickets.

After stints with Punjab, Delhi and Gujarat, he returned to CSK in 2019 but could not replicate his early impact. Still with 69 wickets for the franchise, Mohit remains among CSK's notable bowlers and credits Dhoni for playing a role in his India debut.
