Mumbai Indians (MI) made it to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 playoffs despite lingering at the bottom of the points table for the initial stages of the season. It was only the franchise's second final four finish since 2020.

The Hardik Pandya-led team has a stable core and the squad is not expected to undergo significant changes heading into a new season, except for addressing some glaring issues.

MI retained players ahead of IPL 2026 mini-auction

The Mumbai-based franchise will retain most of the players in the squad, with no glaring issues to address.

With a couple of impactful performances as a replacement opening batter and wicketkeeper from Jonny Bairstow, it could be a tricky situation to see whether they retain both Jonny Bairstow and Ryan Rickleton for the next season.

MI trade rumours ahead of IPL 2026 mini-auction

Sherfane Rutherford to MI:

MI have confirmed the arrival of Sherfane Rutherford from GT ahead of the IPL 2026 section.

Shardul Thakur to MI:

The LSG pace-bowling all-rounder, who was roped in as an injury replacement last season, is set to move to his hometown franchise ahead of the 2026 season.

The teams have officially confirmed an all-cash deal for 2 crore.

Arjun Tendulkar to LSG:

Tendulkar will move to LSG for the upcoming season, after he was traded for an all-cash deal by the teams.

Both Shardul Thakur and Arjun Tendulkar's deals have been treated separately by the franchises.

Mayank Markande to MI:

Markande will return to the MI camp once again, as they bag his services from the Kolkata Knight Riders for 30 L.

He has previously played for them in 2018-19 and 2022.

Ishan Kishan to MI:

MI were also been linked to make a move for Ishan Kishan from the Sunrisers Hyderabad, as they lack an experienced Indian wicketkeeper who can also bat in the top order in the squad.

The potential trade of Kishan could either include player(s) or be an all-cash deal between the teams. His inclusion would mean that they will have an option to try out various team combinations.
