Lucknow had entered the previous season with high hopes after making some bold moves, including bringing in Rishabh Pant as captain. But things didn’t go as planned. The side ended up finishing seventh in the table, with only six wins in fourteen matches.

Among the foreign players, West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph and Proteas southpaw David Miller have been released.

On Wednesday, it was confirmed that MI has agreed on a trade deal with LSG to sign Shardul Thakur. 

The Indians who have been released are Aryan Juyal, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Yuvraj Chaudhary, Akash Deep, and Ravi Bishnoi.

Rishabh Pant continues to stay on as captain despite an average season. The franchise still believes in his long-term value as a leader and match-winner. Nicholas Pooran and the overseas batting firepower have also been retained.
