Among the most sought-after positions across franchises is an Indian top-order wicketkeeper batter.
Ishan Kishan is among those players drawing plenty of interest from multiple franchises with other big name being Sanju Samson.
Will Ishan Kishan return back to Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026?
Kishan, a two-time IPL winner with the Mumbai Indians (MI) was swooped by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a big money move of Rs. 11.25 crores in IPL 2025. He could now make his way back to the MI blues once again in 2026, according to a Times of India report.
The Mumbai-based franchise had notably also raised the paddle during last season's auction after releasing him. However, they paused their bid at 3.20 crore and bought Ryan Rickelton later in the day.
Albeit Rickelton's 388-run season, MI are exploring options to get an Indian wicketkeeper, which provides them with an option to use an overseas slot for some other position.
Alongside MI, there are two more teams interested in the 27-year-old's services for next season. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who are also interested in Sanju Samson, are one of them, while Rajasthan Royals (RR) is the other.
As things stand, nothing is finalised between any two parties, and SRH holds the firm grip in the negotiations.
