How is the purse amount determined for each team?

Every franchise had the original purse of 120 crores ahead of last year's mega auction, through which they built their roster for the 2025-27 cycle.

The original purse in the table above was the amount remaining in each team's kitty at the end of last season's auction.

The amounts gained by all teams through player releases will be added to that purse. That amount will be considered as their new purse for the IPL 2026 mini auction.

When is the IPL 2026 auction?

According to the latest reports, the IPL 2026 auction will take place on December 16, 2025. It will take place in Abu Dhabi.
