IPL 2026 auction live: Latest updates from the Indian Premier League mini-auction in Abu Dhabi image

Over 350 players will go under the hammer at the Indian Premier League 2026 mini-auction at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

All 10 IPL franchises will be sharpening their strategies as they come to the auction table on Tuesday, promising a day of intense drama and bidding battles.

After retention and trades, teams will compete for 77 available slots overall, including 31 spots for overseas players. The highest reserve price remains INR 2 crore, with 40 players choosing to enter the auction in this bracket.

SUMMARY OF THE LAST TWO ACCELERATOR ROUNDS

The accelerated rounds saw several teams completing their squads through value buys, while a long list of players once again went unsold.

Key purchases included Kyle Jamieson, who Delhi Capitals picked up for ₹2 crore to close out the auction, and Rahul Chahar, who went to CSK for ₹5.2 crore after an intense bidding war. J

Josh Inglis also attracted big money, despite announcing earlier that he wouldn't be available for much of the season, eventually landing with LSG for ₹8.6 crore.

Among other notable signings, Adam Milne went to Rajasthan Royals for ₹2.4 crore, Matt Henry rejoined CSK for ₹2 crore, and KKR picked up Akash Deep at his base price.

Domestic talent featured heavily late on, with RCB snapping up Vihaan Malhotra, Kanishk Chouhan, and Vicky Ostwal, while GT added Luke Wood, Tom Banton, and Prithvi Raj. Jack Edwards was one of the big buys late in the auction after being sold to SRH for ₹3 crore.

On the flip side, several well-known names failed to find buyers despite multiple rounds. Akash Madhwal, Michael Bracewell, Spencer Johnson, Jamie Smith, Deepak Hooda, Sanvir Singh, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Kamesh Nagarkoti, Atharva Taide, Ruchit Ahir, Prithvi Shaw (earlier rounds), Riley Meredith, Richard Gleeson, CV Milind, and M Ashwin all went unsold.

17:45 p.m.:  The auction has paused for a 40-minute break ahead of the accelerated round. So far, Kolkata Knight Riders have gone aggressive in picking established names, while Chennai Super Kings have invested heavily in domestic talent (Kartik Sharma and Prashant Veer). Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad have added just one player each, with SRH still holding a purse of over ₹25 crore.

Rajasthan Royals added Yash Raj Punja and Vignesh Puthur at their base price of ₹30 lakh, with Puthur receiving loud applause at the Etihad Arena. KKR picked up Prashant Solanki for the same amount. Afghanistan’s Wahidullah Zadran and Indian players Shivam Shukla, Kumar Kartikeya and Karn Sharma went unsold.

RR later secured left-arm pacer Sushant Mishra for ₹90 lakh after a bidding battle involving DC and KKR. The uncapped spinners’ set followed, where LSG bought Naman Tiwari for ₹1 crore, while Akash Madhwal remained unsold. Gujarat Titans made a smart late move to sign express pacer Ashok Sharma for ₹90 lakh, beating KKR, CSK and RR to his signature.

16:25 p.m.:  Rahul Chahar found no takers as he went unsold, while Ravi Bishnoi initially appeared set for a similar outcome at his ₹2 crore base price before the bidding suddenly came alive. Rajasthan Royals were the first to step in, only for Chennai Super Kings to join the contest soon after.

CSK stayed in the race up to ₹6 crore before pulling out, following which Sunrisers Hyderabad briefly entered the fray to challenge Rajasthan Royals. However, SRH also withdrew, allowing Rajasthan Royals to secure Ravi Bishnoi for ₹7.20 crore.

The focus then shifted to uncapped players, with Atharva Taide (base price ₹30 lakh) opening the segment but going unsold. Anmolpreet Singh followed and met the same fate, as did Abhinav Tejrania and Abhinav Manohar, with none of the four attracting any bids.

16:13 p.m.:  Akeal Hosein sold to CSK for ₹2 crore.

16:11 p.m.:  Ravi Bishnoi sold to Rajasthan Royals for ₹7.20 crore.

16:01 p.m.:  Anrich Nortje sold to LSG for ₹2 crore.

15:59 p.m.:  Matisha Pathirana sold to KKR at ₹18 crore.

15:50 p.m.: Jacob Duffy sold to RCB at ₹2 crore.

15:40 p.m.:  A busy opening phase at the auction has seen several big names remain unsold. Jake Fraser-McGurk, Prithvi Shaw, Devon Conway, Sarfaraz Khan, Gus Atkinson, Rachin Ravindra, Liam Livingstone, Deepak Hooda, KS Bharat, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Jonny Bairstow and Jamie Smith all failed to attract bids.

Among the players sold, Delhi Capitals picked up David Miller for ₹2 crore and later added Ben Duckett at the same price. Kolkata Knight Riders made the biggest splash so far, securing Cameron Green for a massive ₹25.20 crore, while also signing Finn Allen for ₹2 crore. Lucknow Super Giants snapped up Wanindu Hasaranga for ₹2 crore, Royal Challengers Bengaluru bought Venkatesh Iyer for ₹7 crore, and Mumbai Indians acquired Quinton de Kock for ₹1 crore.

15:28 p.m.: NZ's Finn Allen is sold to KKR at INR 2 crore. 

15:27  p.m.: Ben Duckett is sold to the Delhi Capitals for INR 2 crore.

15:25 p.m.:  Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Jamie Smith, Jonny Bairstow go unsold. 

15:25 p.m.: De Kock returns to MI for his base price at INR 1 crore. 

15:24 p.m.: Deepak Hooda, KS Bharat go unsold.

15:22 p.m.: Venkatesh Iyer  goes to RCB for INR 7 crore. KKR joined in at INR 3.60 cr but did not go beyond 6.80 cr. 

15:12 p.m.: Wanindu Hasaranga  is sold to LSG for INR 2 crore.
