What did Shreyas Iyer say about Glenn Maxwell's injury?

Speaking at the toss, Shreyas Iyer said the team was still assessing their options and hadn't decided on a replacement yet.

"It's very unfortunate that he's got a fractured finger. To be honest, we haven't decided about the replacements yet so far but we are pretty strong in our team's mindset and what we have outside of our playing XI. We've got varieties of players who can win you matches. So we're going to stick to that as much as possible," said Iyer.

What did Marcus Stoinis say about Glenn Maxwell's injury?

Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis confirmed the extent of the injury while speaking to Jiostar. He said Maxwell initially believed the injury wasn’t too serious but scan results later revealed otherwise.

“Unfortunately, Maxi's broken his finger. He broke it just before the last game at training... He had scans and yeah, the results weren’t great. So unfortunately for Maxi, I think it's likely he's out for the tournament,” said Stoinis.

It’s a bitter end to what has been a difficult season for Maxwell. He scored only 48 runs in 7 innings - nowhere close to his explosive form in past IPL campaigns.
