The U.S. Open at Oakmont has been a beast so far, as even the best golfers in the world have struggled.

Halfway through the event, only three players sit under par, with Sam Burns leading the way. The American shot a 65 on Friday morning, putting him at -3 for the tournament and allowing him to watch others falter in the afternoon.

Right behind Burns is J.J. Spaun, who shot a bogey-free 66 on Thursday before falling a few spots a day later. Finally, there's Viktor Hovland, whose up-and-down tournament has him at -1 and just two back of Burns.

However, with Oakmont playing so difficult, it's truly anyone's tournament. Saturday will prove to be a crucial day in the event, as players will look to separate themselves from the pack while avoiding the pitfalls of this course.

The end of the second round was suspended on Friday due to rain, so a few golfers will need to finish their second rounds before the third round begins. Play will resume at 7:30 a.m. ET, with the third round expected to begin at around 9 a.m. ET.
