Tottenham star reveals club's mentality for new season image

Thomas Frank is looking like the right man to lead the Tottenham Hotspurs, with the club securing a win in their first Champions League match over Villarreal.

Tottenham also recorded a win over Manchester City, and the club has kept four clean sheets in six matches under Frank.

Youngster Lucas Bergvall has been key for Tottenham, and the midfielder has revealed what the club is focusing on this season.

What has Tottenham's mentality been this season?

After the Champions League win, Bergvall said, "I think it was a solid one. A clean sheet and three points at home, so a good win.

"We had the better first half. They got better in the second half and pushed at the end, but as I said, we have the clean sheet mentality this year."

Frank has stuck with Guglielmo Vicario in goal, with the keeper only having conceded one goal in the Premier League this season.

Bergvall continued, "It is a bit of a step up playing in the Champions League. A dream since I was a young kid. To play here at home, three points, an unbelievable feeling.

"It [the season] has been really good. We conceded two goals against PSG and one goal against Bournemouth. Otherwise, it has been a really great start to the season."

Joao Palhinha, who is on loan from Bayern Munich, also praised the team defensively, saying, "I think we have seen the team improving and that’s the main thing, especially defensively.

"I think the commitment since the first player on the front until the keeper, the commitment is always there. We know that we will have our chances, so this is really important for us to keep the clean sheet.

"If we keep the level high on the defence, we know that we are much closer to winning games."
