Thomas Frank praises Tottenham for 'best performance of the season' against Brighton image

Thomas Frank and Tottenham Hotspur sit second in the table on 10 points, just five behind league leaders Liverpool.

Frank managed his first European game with Tottenham and saw his side defeat Villarreal by a goal.

Tottenham's weekend test came against Brighton in the Premier League in an eventful 2-2 draw.

Despite conceding two goals in the first half, Frank's side battled back to earn a point, with the manager hailing his team for their performance.

What did Frank say after Tottenham's draw against Brighton?

Speaking to BBC Match of the Day, Frank said, "I think this is our best performance of the season."

Frank's assessment comes even after Tottenham secured a win against rivals Manchester City.

The manager continued, "I actually think that overall, if there should have been a winner, it should have been us.

"So many crosses into the box, near chances, missed opportunities. We were physically strong and mentally strong, and that is so important if you want to achieve something."

Goals from Yankuba Minteh and Yasin Ayari must have given Frank some anxiety that he would suffer defeat, but a Richarlison goal and a Jan Paul van Hecke own goal gave the Spurs life again.

Frank added, "The mentality that we showed, I was so impressed with. The mentality to stay in the game, to keep going, to keep pushing and come back and get a well deserved 2-2."
