Real Madrid have snubbed the Ballon d'Or ceremony for multiple seasons, with the club showing displeasure that their players have not been awarded the trophy.

The latest trophy went to Ousmane Dembele from PSG, but several Real players were nominated for the prestigious award.

According to a report from Defensa Central, Real president Florentino Perez believes that Kylian Mbappe will win the Ballon d'Or in the current season.

The president is confident in his striker, who is already having a phenomenal season just halfway through October.

How are Mbappe's stats looking for the current season?

Out of his matches in La Liga, Champions League, and the Club World Cup, Mbappe has scored 15 goals and assisted two goals.

Mbappe and Perez remain focused on the team's success as a whole, but the French striker might be in line for his best season yet, which could lead him to winning the biggest award in football.

Mbappe has hit the ground running, with nine goals in eight La Liga matches this season.

Real sit second in the league, just behind rivals Barcelona, who the club faces on October 26 in the first El Clásico of the season.

Perez also backs Mbappe's determination and mindset, with the Frenchman constantly raising the bar for himself.

While the season is still in the early stages, Perez remains confident in his striker, with Mbappe's strong start to the season poising him for big numbers the rest of the way.
