Nottingham Forest’s turbulent managerial cycle has taken another turn as pressure mounts on Ange Postecoglou after a string of poor results that have left the club hovering just above the relegation zone.
The Australian manager has endured a difficult start since his appointment on September 9 with Forest losing five of his seven matches and drawing two without a single victory to show for his efforts.
Their latest defeat to Newcastle United has deepened the crisis. According to the Daily Mail- it has prompted talks between Postecoglou and club owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Forest sit 17th in the Premier League table just one point clear of the drop zone after a record-breaking 2024/25 season that raised hopes among supporters for sustained stability.

Marco Silva has emerged as possible option
Reportedly, Fulham boss Marco Silva has emerged as a long-term target for Forest though any approach is unlikely before the end of the season.

Silva’s name has lingered in the background since he was approached by Benfica last season and his work at Fulham continues to attract admirers across Europe.
Forest’s upcoming fixtures offer little respite as they face Chelsea, Porto and Bournemouth within a demanding ten-day stretch between (October 18 to 26).
Meanwhile Marinakis’s presence alongside Rafael Benitez at Arsenal’s Champions League fixture has sparked speculation about potential successors to Postecoglou’s position.
Benitez, who has maintained close ties with the Marinakis family and last managed Celta Vigo remains interested in a Premier League return.
