Real Madrid are set to host Manchester City in a crucial Champions League fixture at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday evening.

Los Blancos find themselves in full-blown crisis mode after their 2-0 defeat to Celta Vigo in La Liga on Sunday night, and reports in Spanish media are speculating whether this continental tie could be Xabi Alonso's final match in the Madrid dugout, should it end in another defeat.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have been in robust form after a sluggish start to their season and head into this fixture on the back of a clinical 3-0 win over Sunderland.

However, the record European champions cannot be written off as they have a history of coming back from the casket, and nobody knows it better than the English giants, as they were stunned at the same venue in 2022 during stoppage time of a knockout tie.
