Bayern Munich continue to suffer frustration in the summer transfer market on the back of a high-profile rejection from Florian Wirtz, who has opted for a move to Liverpool.
Following Wirtz's call, the Bundesliga champions switched focus to Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams, to bolster their left-wing options.
However, multiple reports in Spain indicate Williams has agreed personal terms with Barcelona, as the 22-year-old prefers to remain in La Liga, and join a host of international teammates in Catalonia.
The Bavarians have maintained a firm interest in Williams, but as per Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich received a confirmed rejection in recent days, as the Basque winger only wants to play for Barcelona.
Williams is rumoured to have agreed the details on a six-year deal in Barcelona, including an annual salary of €7.5m [$8.5m], as Barcelona work on a final transfer fee with Athletic Club.
Williams has a €63m [£72m] release clause in Bilbao, and Barcelona are working to meet that, and it appears to be only a matter of time before he makes the switch.

With Bayern Munich now out of the race, Sporting Director Max Eberl is looking at new options, with shortlist trio of Rafael Leao, Kaoru Mitoma and Cody Gakpo.
Who could Bayern Munich target as Williams Plan B?
Bayern Munich have reportedly maintained contact with Leao's representatives over a possible transfer this summer, but there are several European teams interested in the Portuguese winger.
However, luring the Portugal international out of the San Siro will be tough, as new manager Max Allegri wants him to play a key role in his new project at AC Milan.

Previously the Rossoneri slapped an €80m [$92m] asking price on the winger. As per Tuttosport, Bayern Munich have kept aside around €60m [$69m] for him as he is now their primary target following Williams' rejection.
Brighton & Hove Albion star Mitoma is also an option, after developing into one of the best left-wingers in the Premier League across the last two seasons with 10 goals and four assists in 36 appearances in the 2024/25 campaign.
Lastly, Bayern Munich have also enquired about Liverpool's Cody Gakpo with the Dutch forward viewed as extremely versatile on the left flank or as a sole number 9.
Gakpo had a solid season in Liverpool's title triumph, scoring 10 goals and providing four assists in 35 appearances, however, there's no indication he wants leave Anfield at this stage..
If Gakpo does push to depart Merseyside, Bayern Munich could be his destination, but Liverpool will demand in the region of €50-60m [$57m-69m].
