Inter Miami star Luis Suarez has been handed another suspension by Major League Soccer for his involvement in an incident that followed the Leagues Cup final on August 31.
The Herons suffered a crushing 3-0 defeat against Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field. Following the final whistle in the Leagues Cup final, a fight broke out at the center of the pitch, in which Suarez was seen yelling at one of the opponent team's staff.
As the situation escalated, Inter Miami goalkeeper Oscar Ustari attempted to separate Suarez, who then spat at the face of Seattle Sounders security staffer Gene Ramirez. Following the brawl in Seattle, the Herons' head coach, Javier Mascherano, said,
"None of us likes to see this kind of behavior. When there's a reaction, it usually means there was some provocation," as per GOAL.
A week following the incident, the Leagues Cup issued a six-match ban for Suarez if he participates in the next edition(s) of the competition. Inter Miami's Tomas Aviles and Sergio Busquets have been suspended for three and two games, respectively, while Seattle Sounders coach Steven Lenhart was handed a ban for five clashes.
Now, MLS have also barred Suarez from featuring in Inter Miami's next three league matches due to his conduct in the Leagues Cup final.

While Busquets and Aviles have not received any MLS-specific punishment, the league have revoked Lenhart's credentials for the remainder of the 2025 campaign and playoffs. The manager will only be allowed limited access to public seating areas and can reapply for next season.
