Liverpool travel to Marseille tonight for a tricky Champions League tie as the Reds look to keep their automatic qualification hopes on track and ease the pressure on under-fire boss Arne Slot.

The Reds are unbeaten in their last 12 games but continually fail to impress with Saturday's disappointing draw at home with Burnley their fourth consecutive in the Premier League.

A win here would lift spirits on Merseyside and see them move into the top eight ahead of a final day date with Qarabag at Anfield.

However, it will not be an easy task with Roberto De Zerbi's Marseille side full of goals and former Premier League stars, and with eyes on qualification themselves.

AllSportsPeople brings you the latest tips and predictions for this crunch Champions League clash in the south of France. Slot has hinted that Mohamed Salah could start the game after inviting press to look at his lineup and decide if he still has an issue with the Egyptian forward.

Marseille vs. Liverpool preview: Who will win today?

Liverpool have become the draw specialists of late with six in their unimpressive 12-game unbeaten run. It is odd considering they had not drawn a game until early December this season.

We're going for another one with here but predicting plenty of goals with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mason Greenwood likely to cause a leaky Reds defence plenty of problems.

It won't do much to ease the pressure on Slot — particularly now that Xabi Alonso is on the market — and will leave their automatic qualification fate up in the air before Matchday 8.

Our Score Prediction: Marseille 2-2 Liverpool (11.87 with Dafabet))

Head-to-Head:  Marseille vs. Liverpool

  • The two clubs have played in the Champions League on four previous occasions with Liverpool holding a 3-1 win advantage.
  • The games came in back-to-back seasons (07/08 & 08/09) with Marseille stunning the Reds at Anfield in their first meeting.
  • Liverpool have won on both their previous trips to the Veledrome, famously winning 4-0 in December 2007 to secure passage to the last 16.

Marseille vs. Liverpool Betting Tips

With a 2-2 predicted scoreline, both teams to score is our obvious first pick here and looks a safe bet.

Aubameyang and Ekitike are our favourite goalscorer selections. The veteran Gabonese striker has three goals and four assists in the Champions League this season. Ekitike has just the one in Europe for Liverpool to score on his return to France.
