Manchester City are again pushing for the title in the Premier League as Pep Guardiola’s side take on West Ham - in a real battle to avoid the drop this season.

Manchester City have built up some form once again, most recently easing to a comfortable 2-0 win against Brentford in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup at the Etihad Stadium.

West Ham begin the 17th match day sitting tucked inside the bottom three and the relegation places, three points adrift of Leeds United. The Hammers most recently suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Aston Villa, having gone ahead after 29 seconds.

Can Man City keep up the pressure on Arsenal at the top-of-the-table or will West Ham provide a major upset? AllSportsPeople brings you all the latest tips and odds for this Premier League clash.

Manchester City vs. West Ham Prediction: Who Will Win?

With league leaders Arsenal not playing until the evening away at Everton, Manchester City have the chance to spend a few hours at least at the top-of-the-table as they begin the weekend sitting two points behind the Gunners.

City have now enjoyed six successive victories across all competitions and they will be expected to ease themselves to another win, although West Ham will fancy their chances of at least scoring on the counter-attack, especially given the relative success Nuno Espirito Santo has had against Guardiola.

Score Prediction: Man City 3-1 West Ham (9.89 with Dafabet)

  • Overall, the two teams have clashed on 123 occasions with Man City coming out on top in 66 of those games and West Ham winning 38 matches.

Man City vs. West Ham Betting Tips

Having produced much-needed back-to-back wins against Newcastle and Burnley, West Ham went 2-0 up at Bournemouth but they are now on a five-match winless run of form after giving up that two-goal lead and having to settle for a point.

They have been much-improved since the appointment of Nuno and, on the counter-attack, Jarrod Bowen will lead their threat so backing the former Hull City man to have a shot on target seems a good shout.

Bowen is West Ham’s top scorer this season but has also had the most shots on target of any West Ham player with 1.1 shots on target per game.

Man City vs. West Ham Team News

Man City Team News

  • Pep Guardiola is dealing with a couple of newer absentees as Rayan Ait-Nouri and Omar Marmoush are now away with Algeria and Egypt respectively at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
  • Rayan Cherki has found some excellent form in the final third for City alongside fellow attackers Phil Foden, Jeremy Doku and Erling Braut Haaland.
  • Doku, though, is now sidelined for the hosts alongside midfield duo Mateo Kovacic and Rodri, while John Stones is a doubt due to a thigh injury.

West Ham Team News

  • West Ham have issues in the full-back positions as Senegal international El Hadji Malick Diouf has joined Democratic Republic of Congo defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka at AFCON.
  • The Hammers are definitely without experienced Poland international goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, as well as Germany international striker Niclas Fullkrug a major doubt.
  • Oliver Scarles could come back into the eleven for the visitors, as a replacement for Diouf, but it also wouldn’t be a surprise to see Nuno switch to a back three.
