Sadio Mane scored the only goal of the game to down his old Liverpool ally Mohamed Salah and Egypt in the semifinals.
In recent editions of AFCON, the Lions of Teranga have been one of the most consistent performers. How much will that count for this weekend?

Have Senegal ever won AFCON?
Senegal won their first and, as yet, only AFCON title when they beat Egypt on penalties after a goalless draw in the 2021 final.
Two years earlier, they lost 1-0 in the 2019 final, unable to overturn Algeria's second-minute opener through Baghdad Bounedjah.
The weekend showdown with Morocco will be Senegal's third appearance in the final in the past four editions of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Senegal's all-time record at the Africa Cup of Nations
Alongside their back-to-back final appearances in 2019 and 2021, Senegal also reached the final in 2002 and lost on penalties to Cameroon. That preceded the Lions of Teranga's superb run to the quarterfinals of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, where they stunned holders France with a 1-0 win in the opening game.
On their first appearance back in 1965, Senegal finished fourth in a six-team tournament that comprised two groups of three before a final and a third-place match, which they lost 1-0 to the Ivory Coast.
Senegal's other two fourth-place finishes came after semifinal defeats to Algeria and Egypt in 1990 and 2006 respectively. They were beaten quarterfinalists in 1992, 1994, 2000, 2004 and 2017.
