Newcastle United resume their Premier League campaign with an away trip as they face Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on October 18.
The Seagulls have secured win against top teams like Manchester City and Chelsea, but they have failed to capitalize on that by dropping points against perceived lesser opposition, leaving them with nine points from seven games.
Meanwhile, Newcastle also had a slow start but, with the arrival of their new signings, things have taken a positive turn.
Although Eddie Howe's men find themselves level on points with their opponents, the Magpies were in much better form heading into the international break.
They registered dominant wins over Bradford City, Union Saint-Gilloise and Nottingham Forest across all competitions, and also had a decent outing against Arsenal in a 2-1 defeat.
The two teams faced off three times last season, with Brighton winning twice and the other game ending level. This exact fixture ended in a draw as Newcastle scored a last-gasp equalizer courtesy of a penalty scored by Alexander Isak after Yankuba Minteh's first-half strike for the hosts.

Brighton & Hove Albion vs. Newcastle United lineups: Predicted starting XI, team news
Fabian Hurzeler needs to take a few decisions as some of his first-team regulars are doubtful for this home game against Newcastle.
Solly March, Jack Hinshelwood and Adam Webster continue to remain on the sidelines with their respective injury issues, and there are a few more concerns following the international break.
Kaoru Mitoma and Joel Veltman are doubtful for this match, and their availability will be assessed as late as possible. Diego Gomez and Brajan Gruda are also uncertainties after reporting minor issues.
Carlos Baleba is expected to partner Yasin Ayari in midfield providing stability to Brighton whilst Danny Welbeck should start in attack. The experienced forward could be forced to carry the load up front given the potential absentees.
Brighton predicted starting XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Verbruggen (GK) — Kadioglu, Dunk, Van Hecke, Wieffer — Baleba, Ayari — Gruda, Rutter, Minteh — Welbeck
Injured: March (knee), Webster (knee), Hinshelwood (ankle), Veltman (calf, doubt), Mitoma (foot, doubt), Gruda (knee, doubt), Gomez (thigh, doubt)
Suspended: None
Newcastle also have their fair share of injury concerns. Yoane Wissa, Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall are ruled out of this fixture, while others remain questionable.
Dan Burn fractured his arm but is expected to play on, while Jacob Ramsey is returning from an ankle injury and could be on the bench. Joelinton is also expected to be at least in the squad despite returning from Brazil duty with a knock.
Howe may field an unchanged lineup that helped them secure victory over Nottingham Forest in the last league clash, although alterations in midfield could be needed if Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton need any extra recovery time after their long trip back from South East Asia.
Nick Woltemade has been in exceptional goal-scoring form for Newcastle and Germany and is expected to lead the line for the Magpies.
Newcastle United predicted starting XI (4-3-3, right to left): Pope (GK) — Trippier, Burn, Botman, Thiaw — Guimaraes, Tonali, Joelinton — Elanga, Woltemade, Gordon
Injured: Hall (thigh), Livramento (knee), Wissa (knee), Ramsey (ankle, doubt), Joelinton (knock, doubt)
