Bayern Munich star hails Vincent Kompany, opens up on reason behind summer transfer image

Bayern Munich faced a lot of criticism with their transfer dealings in the summer window as they failed to land majority of their targets.

Despite that, the Bavarians have been one of the most threatening teams in Europe's top five leagues this season, winning their first 10 competitive games.

In this period several new signings like Luis Diaz, Jonathan Tah, Tom Bischof and even on loan star Nicolas Jackson has impressed the fans and pundits with some stellar performances.

Amidst all the new names, Bischof is someone who has flown under the radar with his excellent displays in midfield.

The 20-year-old who was a cornerstone player at Hoffenheim last season has moved to Bayern Munich and he has adapted to life at Allianz Arena with sheer authority.

Bischof may not have set the stage on fire but that's not even expected from him as he is fighting for a spot in midfield with players like Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Aleksandar Pavlovic already ahead of him in the pecking order.

However, he has still earned a lot of plaudits in his limited opportunities this season as he looked extremely confident with the ball as the dictated the buildup and controlled the tempo. His tackling and positional sense was also up to the mark.

Bischof recently touched upon a lot of areas in an interview where he spoke about the reason for his decision to join Bayern Munich.

"I'm a guy who likes challenges. And I've often said that the identity of FC Bayern suits me. I'm a winner. When you go to the training ground, you just notice that the guys want to win; they fight for every ball. All of that suits me, and I'm keen to establish myself," Bischof told in an interview with Ran Sport

What did Bischof say about Bayern manager Vincent Kompany?

Bischof is one of the most talented and rising midfielders in Germany and acknowledging his talent and skillset, he was handed his national team debut earlier this year in June during the Nations League.

However, he is currently a part of the Germany U21 setup on Julian Nagelsmann's suggestion as he wants him to get as much gametime as possible to make it to the Germany squad for the World Cup next year.

"I spoke with the coach (Nagelsmann) on the phone before the squad was announced. He told me he wants more playing time from me [at Bayern]. Then there'd be a better chance I'll be called up again to the senior team. But, as I said, I'm happy to be here now with the U21s and to show what I'm capable of."

Speaking about coaches, he highlighted how Kompany is someone who is extremely particular about certain things but the Belgian is also fun at times to maintain balance in the camp.

"I've rarely seen a coach who has the team so under control and, at the same time, brings so much fun to training sessions and the team as he does. The first three weeks were truly crazy. He told me something about practically every move. I almost thought, 'Please, that's enough.' I was annoyed, but I have to say that, looking back, it's helped me tremendously. I constantly think of his words in my actions. 'Run back, always keep up!' - He drilled that into my head. And it's stuck there forever."

Bischof will look to continue the good work at Bayern Munich in whatever opportunity that comes his way as he is keen to keep his World Cup dreams alive.
