Manchester City ended their season with a third-place finish in the Premier League with no major trophies.
Even though City managed to secure a Champions League qualification for the next campaign, changes are anticipated in head coach Pep Guardiola's squad in the summer transfer window.
City have already been linked to several top names right from the beginning of the transfer window and there are many questions about the future of the existing names in Guardiola's clan.
Two such names include goalkeepers Ederson and Stefan Ortega.
City's first-choice shot-stopper Ederson suffered multiple injuries in the 2024-25 season, missing 10 matches for the club. This prompted more opportunities for Ortega to come off the bench, and feature in 21 matches across competitions.
However, City's unimpressive run in the injury-riddled season also saw them conceding a lot of goals and fewer clean sheets than their usual strides in the past seasons. This led to several reports suggesting that Guardiola may be reconsidering his options in front of the goal.

And now, Guardiola has shared his thoughts on his decisions about the Man City goalkeeper duo.
What did Man City boss Pep Guardiola say?
Ederson contributed to 12 clean sheets and conceded 48 goals in 37 appearances for Man City this season. Ortega, meanwhile, managed to maintain seven clean sheets and conceded 24 goals.
Putting an end to the rumors, Guardiola said (via @ferrancorreas) that he asked the goalkeepers to stick around and as per his understanding, both existing goalkeepers will continue at Etihad.
"I don't know much about goalkeepers [joining/leaving Man City]. I tell them to stay. We've talked about the situation of the squad, and the two goalkeepers we have will stay..."
