Manchester City are preparing for a major change in goal. Ederson, a fan favorite for nearly a decade, is reportedly set to join Turkish side Fenerbahce.
That move could open the door for Gianluigi Donnarumma to make a dramatic switch from Paris Saint-Germain to the Etihad.
The Brazilian has been central to City’s dominance under Pep Guardiola. Since arriving from Benfica in 2017, he has played 372 games, won six Premier League titles, and helped lift the Champions League in 2023.
Yet all good things must come to an end, and this one comes with a fee of around €14m ($16m). According to Fabrizio Romano, “Ederson to Fenerbahçe, here we go! Verbal agreement in place.”

Can Man City sign Donnarumma on deadline day?

Reports suggest Donnarumma is City’s top target. The Italian has fallen out of favor at PSG after manager Luis Enrique made it clear he wanted a “different goalkeeping profile.”
Donnarumma, who has 161 appearances for PSG, was even left out of their European Super Cup win earlier this month.
The 26-year-old has pedigree at the highest level. He famously guided Italy to Euro 2020 glory, saving penalties in the final against England, and was named Player of the Tournament.
But his PSG career has been a rollercoaster, marked by brilliant saves and costly mistakes.
City, however, see him as the man to take over from Ederson. The challenge remains the price tag. PSG are reportedly asking for around €50m ($58m), a figure the former Premier League champions may hesitate to meet.
Still, with just hours left before the window closes, the Citizens may feel the pressure to act.
A new era could be dawning between the posts at the Etihad. For City fans, it’s a case of keeping one eye on Turkey and the other on Paris.
After all, when it comes to transfer drama, this one looks destined to go right down to the final whistle.
