Manchester City secured a 1-0 win over Brentford in their last Premier League match of the campaign on October 5 at Gtech Community Stadium.

Erling Haaland found the back of the net just nine minutes into the match after being set up by Josko Gvardiol, extending City's unbeaten streak in the league to four matches. They now rank fifth in the top flight with 13 points.

The Norwegian star has been in great form this season, netting nine goals in seven Premier League appearances while also providing one assist.

When asked if he is currently in the best form of his career after Man City's win on Sunday, Haaland mentioned that he has 'never felt better,' giving a 'shoutout to his son,' and told Sky Sports,

"You can say so, I've never felt better than I do now. I think it's about preparation first of all, getting ready for the games and I spoke so many times about it before, you can be physically ready but you need to be mentally ready as well."

"To be honest with a kid I think it makes me even better because I actually disconnect more than ever, I don't think about football at all. Sometimes when you're younger you think of this and that and maybe worry a little bit about things. But now when I go home I relax even more so I think I need to give a shout out to my son."

Haaland's impressive displays and contributions for Man City have brought in much praise, and now former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has claimed that the 25-year-old to be the 'greatest goal-scorer to ever play in English football.'

What did Jamie Carragher say about Man City's Erling Haaland?

Carragher hailed Haaland as the 'best' and told Sky Sports,

"I think we're watching the greatest goal-scorer to ever play in English football. I honestly can't remember Jimmy Greaves, Dixie Dean and all those players from years ago. But I think of Gary Lineker, Alan Shearer, Harry Kane and Ian Rush for my club Liverpool," as per GOAL.

"There's a difference for me between a great centre-forward or striker and a goal-scorer. I think what we're witnessing now is something we've never seen before in our game and don't forget, this is a club where the goal-scorer beforehand was Sergio Aguero, one of the greatest we'll ever see. This is on a completely different level to Aguero. He's the best."

Haaland, who arrived at the Etihad in 2022 and is currently contracted there till the summer of 2034, has recorded a total of 94 goals and 18 assists in 104 league games for Man City.

Following his international duty this week, Haaland, along with Man City, will return to Premier League action against Everton on October 18 at Etihad Stadium.
