Crystal Palace’s journey with Marc Guehi may soon reach its final chapter, with The i Paper reporting that the club are prepared to sell their captain in January.

His contract runs until summer 2026 leaving Palace vulnerable to losing him for nothing next year altogether financially

His proposed transfer to Liverpool collapsed on deadline day when Palace failed to sign a replacement, leaving the England international to see out the first half of the season in South London.

Guehi was signed from Chelsea for £18m [$24m] in 2021 has evolved into a leader on and off the pitch at the Selhurst Park.

He has made over 167 appearances for the Eagles [As of October 18] with nine goals and five assists and also guided them to their first FA Cup triumph in 2025.

His reliability, calmness under pressure and reading of the game have made him one of the Premier League’s most dependable defenders but the 25-year-old now appears ready for a new challenge.

Palace’s strong league form had offered faint hope of persuading him to stay but there has been no indication of that from the player’s camp.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have shown interest

Guehi’s performances in recent seasons has commanded attention and the interest in England international has grown beyond UK.

Reportedly, Barcelona and Real Madrid are both monitoring his situation closely with both tempting the Palace’s star to consider move abroad. Bayern Munich are also understood to be keen.

Liverpool still hold interest but will face fierce competition should Palace invite offers in January. The club, meanwhile intend to find a successor swiftly determined not to let their promising campaign unravel.
