Just over a month after joining Chelsea from Brighton and Hove Albion, Joao Pedro is establishing himself as one of the signings of the summer.
The Brazilian has made an instant impact at Stamford Bridge, with two goals and two assists in three Premier League matches so far.
Additionally, Pedro also managed to find the back of the net three times during the Club World Cup.
In a recent interview, the striker revealed the reasons behind his instant success at his new club and highlighted his familiarity with the Chelsea players and the confidence he got from scoring in the Club World Cup as to why he has made such an impressive start to life at Stamford Bridge.
What’s more impressive is that he has developed an instant partnership with Chelsea’s talisman, Cole Palmer, during his short stint at the club.
However, the Brazilian has revealed that he was a bit afraid of how the Englishman would welcome him at his new home, given that Palmer is the undisputed main man at Chelsea.

Joao Pedro feared Cole Palmer’s reaction to his arrival at Chelsea
Given that Pedro was the top dog at Brighton, the 23-year-old feared how Palmer would react to that kind of person joining his Chelsea side.
“Cole is a superstar,” Pedro told The Standard. “When I came to Chelsea, I was a little bit scared about how he was going to react, because I was the main guy at Brighton. I knew Chelsea would be different. I said: ‘Cole, I’m here to help you.'”

Needless to say, Pedro and Palmer are getting along just fine at Chelsea and have struck up an enviable partnership with each other so far.
It was Palmer who set up Pedro in the Club World Cup final as the Brazilian went on to grab Chelsea’s third goal against PSG.
The Chelsea fans will be hoping that the duo can recreate that kind of form together, once Palmer returns from injury after the international break.
