Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in the ongoing summer transfer window.
But if the Blues do not end up signing him, they have an intriguing backup option on their radar.
Despite being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for the majority of the transfer window, Garnacho is still not a Chelsea player. And now, time is running out for him to make his move.
It has been reported that Garnacho is waiting to join Chelsea before the September 1 deadline.
But Chelsea are waiting for more player sales before they officially make a move for the Argentine and bring him to West London.
However, if the move for Garnacho does not materialise, Enzo Maresca’s team could turn their attention to a Serie A star who is pushing for an exit.

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea consider Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman as their backup option if they fail to sign Garnacho.
It is understood that the 27-year-old has submitted a transfer request as he tries to push for a move away from Atalanta. In fact, he has relocated to London and removed any mention of his current employers from his social media channels.
Meanwhile, the report also adds that Atalanta are willing to sell Lookman but are demanding £45m ($60m).
It further states that Arsenal are weighing up an approach for Lookman, who’s also on the radar of Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, Atletico Madrid and Napoli.
Therefore, if Chelsea turned their attention to the Nigerian international, they would face plenty of competition to sign him.
