Barcelona fans could soon see their newest teenage star step onto the pitch.

Roony Bardghji, the 19-year-old forward signed this summer, has declared that he expects to be registered in time for the club’s next La Liga match against Valencia.

The Swedish youngster has missed Barcelona’s opening three league fixtures due to paperwork delays. That has sparked rumors that he might be forced to play with the reserves.

But Bardghji has made it clear he never saw that as an option.

With over 80 first-team games already under his belt at Copenhagen, he sees himself as ready for the highest level.

Barcelona clearly share that view, having beaten several clubs, including Manchester United, to his signature. Now, the spotlight shifts to whether he can make an immediate impact in Spain.

What Roony Bardghji said ahead of his potential Barcelona debut?

Speaking during international duty, Bardghji cut through the speculation: “I never came to Barca to play with the reserve team, that possibility never existed. It was something invented by the media. From day one, both the club and I were clear that I’d be part of the first team. I’ve already played over 100 games at first-team level, so I was never going to join a reserve side.”

The winger also added: “Everything is ready [about my registration]. I think I will be able to play vs Valencia.”

That confidence will please Barcelona fans, though competition for minutes in attack is fierce. Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, Dani Olmo and Marcus Rashford are all pushing for places.

For Bardghji, opportunities may come in the Copa del Rey or even the Champions League, where he is already eligible.

Barcelona’s frontline is stacked, but the teenager’s bold words suggest he’s not here to wait in line. If he does get the nod against Valencia, it could be the first glimpse of another star rising at Camp Nou.
