Aston Villa are reportedly considering a move for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho as the transfer deadline looms and he looks for an escape route after a difficult time at Old Trafford.
Sancho hasn’t played for United since the Community Shield in August 2024.
The Camberwell native joined the Red Devils from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 for a fee of £73m [$98m].
He has struggled to settle at Old Trafford and eventually fell out of favor with the club and over the past 18 months has spent loan spells at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea without long-term success.
Neither side opted to sign him permanently and Chelsea even paid United £5m [$6m] to exit obligations.
Sancho turned down a move to Roma earlier this summer despite interest from Juventus.
The 25-year old who earns £250,000 [$338,000] a week could now be offered the chance to reboot his career under Unai Emery at Villa Park.
The Villa manager is looking for his team’s first Premier League goal of the season and previously revived Marcus Rashford’s career by taking him on loan from United.
Rashford scored four goals and six assists before injury cut his season short and later signed for Barcelona on Loan.
Meanwhile Man United themselves are looking to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

The club has spoken to Villa about World Cup winner while also negotiating with Royal Antwerp over 23-year-old Senne Lammens and with both Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana struggling, United are desperate for reinforcements, but reports insist they will not sign both Martinez and Lammens.
