Viktor Gyokores drops three-word Arsenal hint amid Gunners striker pursuit image

Viktor Gyokeres has sparked fresh speculation over a potential move to Arsenal after a short FaceTime exchange with former team-mate Leo Ostigard appeared to hint at his next club.

The 26-year-old Sporting CP striker has enjoyed a sensational season in Portugal, scoring 54 goals and providing 13 assists across all competitions. He is among several forwards on Arsenal’s radar as the club look to strengthen their attacking options this summer.

Speaking to Flymodus podcast, Hoffenheim defender Ostigard is seen jokingly saying: “Viktor, great talking to you. Text me when everything is signed and sorted at Arsenal…”

To which Gyokeres grinned and replied: “Haha, no we will see. Nobody knows anything yet.

"I wish I had a more fun answer, but that's all I can say for now," a brief but intriguing exchange that has only fuelled rumours of a potential switch to north London.

As Sporting News revealed last week, RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko remains Arsenal’s top priority, with talks already underway over a deal for the Slovenian international.

However, Gyokeres is also on the shortlist of targets, and it’s understood a deal has been explored behind the scenes.

Gyokores is set to be available for just £60million ($81m) this summer - a sum far lower than his original release clause, while Sesko's price tag is expected to reach up to £75million ($101m).

How much can Arsenal afford to spend this summer?

Arsenal’s status as the most profitable club in Premier League history means they can comfortably spend over £200million this summer without facing any PSR (Profit and Sustainability Rules) concerns, giving them the flexibility to pursue high-profile targets across multiple positions.

Meanwhile, Martin Zubimendi’s move to Arsenal is expected to be ratified in the coming weeks after the Gunners agreed to pay the £51m release clause for the Spain midfielder.
