Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who is also Abhishek's mentor, has now come up with a request for the young Indian opener as the duo posed for a picture post India's title-winning campaign.

Yuvraj's fun request to Abhishek - Single bhi lelo Maharaj

The former Indian batter Yuvraj Singh, who was known for hitting big sixes himself, has mentored Abhishek from a very young age.

As the duo posed for a picture with Abhishek's Player of the tournament award, Yuvraj would have been mighty pleased with his prodigy.

In a lighthearted moment, Yuvraj also made a humble request to the Indian opener, as he asked Abhishek to take singles as well, apart from hitting sixes. "Single bhi lelo Maharaj," commented Yuvraj on an Instagram post in a fun advice to his mentee.

The comment, made in good humour, quickly went viral on social media and stole the hearts of cricket fans. It also hinted at the aggressive brand of cricket played by Abhishek, where he often looks for boundaries instead of rotating strike.

Even Yuvraj, during his days, was known for hitting those big boundaries and batting aggressively. The Indian legend is, in fact, the only Indian batter to hit six sixes in an over in International cricket. He achieved the feat against England during the 2007 T20 World Cup.

Abhishek Sharma's rise to stardom - the young man shines bright

In his short international career, Abhishek has already managed to impress one and all. The recently concluded Asia Cup was his first multi-national event, and the batter ended up scoring the highest runs (314 runs in 7 innings) and also bagged the 'player of the series' award.

The Punjab-born batter has played a total of 24 T20Is for India, scoring 849 runs at an average of nearly 37. He also has two T20I centuries to his name, further adding to his glory.

Abhishek's next challenge would be touring Australia next month, which would be a great challenge for the young man ahead of the T20 World Cup next year.
