India's young opening sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal missed out on a well-deserved double-ton as his innings came to a frustrating end on Day 2 of the second Test against the West Indies. Jaiswal was dismissed run out after a huge mix-up in the middle with captain Shubman Gill.

Former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble has now blamed the young Indian opener, calling it a 'bad call' that cost him his wicket.

Anil Kumble blames Yashasvi Jaiswal as he misses a potential double-ton against the West Indies

Jaiswal, who was at a score of 173 overnight, got dismissed in the very second over of the second day in Delhi.  The left-hander punched a delivery to mid-off and immediately rushed for a single.

He was, however, sent back by skipper Gill, who wasn't really interested on running the close single. Tagenarine Chaderpaul was quick to respond as he picked up the ball and threw it to the keeper, who completed the dismissal.

"It was Yashasvi Jaiswal's fault," said Kumble on JioStar. "He wouldn't have made it even to the non-striker's end because it went straight to the mid-off fielder. There was absolutely no chance."

"The only doubt was whether the keeper had full control of the ball when the bails came off. But the umpire didn’t even refer it to the third umpire, and that to me was a bit of a surprise."

Jaiswal's brilliant innings helped India reach a massive total. Captain Shubman Gill also registered a wonderful century, his first at home as the Indian Captain. Earlier, Sai Sudharsan missed out on his maiden century as he was dismissed by Warrican on 87.

India declared their first on 518/5. West Indies ended their day losing 4 wickets for 140 as they still trail by 370 runs. India will look to dismiss the visitors twice and complete an innings victory and register a clean sweep (2-0) as they take to the field for the third day's play.
