Yashasvi Jaiswal just made history again. The young Indian opener became the first Asian ever to score five Test knocks of 150 or more before turning 24, something only Don Bradman had done nearly a century ago.

His unbeaten 173 against West Indies in Delhi put him in a league of his own and stamped his name on cricket’s global record list.

How did Yashasvi Jaiswal break the record for most 150+ Test scores as an Asian under 24?

With his knock, he became the first Asian player in history to record five Test innings of 150-plus runs before age 24.

Before him, no player from India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, or any other Asian nation had ever done it.

The only man ahead of him in world cricket is Bradman, who had eight such knocks by the same age between 1930 and 1932.

That puts Jaiswal in a two-man club spanning nearly a hundred years. He also surpassed the tallies of Sachin Tendulkar, Javed Miandad, and Graeme Smith, each of whom had four such innings at this age.

For someone who’s only 23, Jaiswal’s consistency in long innings is remarkable. Out of his seven Test centuries so far, five have been scores above 150. His first four centuries were all above that mark, something only Graeme Smith managed before him.

This run also made him the first opener in history to register five 150+ scores before turning 24, beating Smith’s record of four.

His numbers in the World Test Championship are already among the best, second only to Joe Root when it comes to 150+ scores. For a player so young, his hunger for big runs looks unstoppable.
