Let's see what Hayden had to say.

Matthew Hayden names Tristan Stubbs as the X-factor in WTC Final

Hayden feels Tristan Stubbs has the tools to take on big games without fear. He compared the young batter to England legend Kevin Pietersen, who also loved playing aggressively and attacking top bowling units.

According to Hayden, Stubbs carries that same fearless energy which could trouble Australia.

"Someone like Tristan Stubbs, I think can be a bit of an X-factor. Similar to the way that Kevin Pietersen was in the England side against Australia, who can come out, start to dominate,” Hayden said to Star Sports.

What makes Tristan Stubbs a threat to Australia?

Stubbs is known for his powerful stroke play. Hayden highlighted that the youngster is a tall player with strong hands, which helps him hit down the ground cleanly.

He may not be traditional in every way, but his technique, strength, and confidence could put Australia under pressure, especially if he gets going early.

“We've seen his hitting ability through the IPLs. Not that that has a great deal of relevance, but he's a very powerful unit. A very conventional hitter of the ball. Tall, big body position and great hands that he can hit down the ground. So he can be a threat," he added.
