India's historic Women's World Cup win in Navi Mumbai has sparked not just nationwide celebration but also a pointed remark from the BCCI.
While under captain Harmanpreet Kaur, India women lifted their first-ever Women's ICC Trophy, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia drew attention to a lingering controversy — the missing Asia Cup trophy that India's men's team won weeks ago.

The contrast between how smoothly the women's side received their trophy and the ongoing standoff over the men's prize has now become a talking point in Indian cricket circles.
BCCI slams Mohsin Naqvi over Asia Cup trophy delay
Following India's 52-run win over South Africa in the World Cup final, Saikia took a swipe at Asian Cricket Council and Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi.
He said that while the women's team received their World Cup trophy "immediately and without drama," the Asia Cup trophy "has still not landed in the BCCI office."
"When our men's team won the Asia Cup in Dubai, the trophy, till date, has not arrived in India," Saikia said.
According to Saikia, the BCCI has already written to the ACC requesting the handover of the trophy. He added that if it is not delivered by November 3, the issue will be escalated to the ICC meeting in Dubai on November 4, where India plans to seek justice through official channels.
Amidst the controversy, the BCCI confirmed a ₹51 crore cash prize for the Indian women's team following their historic win. In addition, the side will receive USD 4.48 million (₹39.78 crore) in prize money from the ICC.
