Will Jasprit Bumrah play the 4th Test? India coach drops major hint ahead of England clash in Manchester image

Jasprit Bumrah has been a key figure in India's success across formats in recent years, consistently emerging as a major threat to the opposition.

However, after sustaining a back injury during the Sydney Test against Australia in January, his availability for the ongoing England series was limited to three out of the five Tests.

With the series on the line, Bumrah's availability for the Manchester Test could once again be crucial to India's chances.

Having played the Headingley and Lord's Tests, India's assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate has dropped major hints over his participation in Manchester as India looks to level the series 2-2.

Here's what he had to say.

Will Jasprit Bumrah play the Manchester Test?

India's ace speedster has looked sharp across the two Tests that he has played in the series so far, showing no signs of physical discomfort.

He has bowled 86.4 overs in four innings, consistently threatening the batters with his pace, lines and lengths.

With a significant eight-day window to recover, he should ideally be fit and available for the Test.

However, whether he features in Manchester or is held back at Oval remains one of the biggest decisions to make for the team management and Ten Doeschate has shown encouraging signs for the fans.

"We will make that call in Manchester, as we know we've got him for one of the last two Tests. It's pretty obvious the series is on the line now in Manchester, so there will be a leaning towards playing him," stated Ryan Ten Doeschate.

How has Jasprit Bumrah performed in England 2025?

Bumrah is the second-highest wicket-taker of the series with 12 scalps in four innings. He has a five-wicket haul at both Headingley and the Lord's.
