Why is India wearing black armbands on Day 2 of the MCG Test?

The Indian team will be sporting black armbands on Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test at the MCG to mourn the passing of former Indian Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh who passed away on Thursday night, December 26 at the age of 92.

Dr Singh was declared dead in New Delhi due to age-related medical conditions at the prestigious AIIMS, and the news was declared by the hospital.

The Indian cricket team extended solidarity towards the family and friends of the former Indian PM.
