Delhi Capitals will enter the IPL 2026 mini auction with their core squad retained, although they have released some key players like Faf du Plessis and Jake Fraser-McGurk.

With a moderate purse available and quite a few gaps to address, DC's strategy for the upcoming auction will be closely watched.

DCC auction purse and squad gaps for IPL 2026

After the recent retention and trade updates, DC will enter the mini auction with INR 21.80 crore in their purse. They also have eight slots open, including five overseas positions.

The releases of Donovan Ferreira (traded to Rajasthan Royals), Darshan Nalkande, Faf du Plessis, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Manvanth Kumar, Mohit Sharma, and Sediqullah Atal have left three major gaps in their roster ahead of the new season.

Overseas openers' targets for DC

With the release of Faf du Plessis and Jake Fraser-McGurk, DC most certainly will look into overseas opener options, who can pair up with KL Rahul at the top of the batting order.

Chennai Super Kings released New Zealand duo Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra and those are the two options that DC could explore to fill up the opening slot.

Potential overseas all-rounder options for DC

Ashutosh Sharma did a splendid job for the franchise last season but the Indian star needs quality supporting all-rounder options in the squads. With KKR releasing Andre Russell and Cameron Green being released by RCB, DC could look into signing one of the two seasoned campaigners.

Overseas fast bowlers DC may target

With several Indian fast bowling options at their disposal, DC would explore the market to sign a new overseas pacer, who could pair up or become a cover for ace Australian star Mitchell Starc.

There are plenty of foreign fast bowlers in the free agent market as stars like Gerald Coetzee, Anrich Nortje. Spencer Johnson and William O'Rourke have been released by their respective franchisees this year.
