The Indian Premier League (IPL) recognises the top run scorer of the competition with the prestigious Orange Cap.
The race was once again on for the coveted Orange Cap award in the IPL 2023 and Gujarat Titans' star opener Shubman Gill won it ultimately by scoring 890 runs in 17 matches.
He is followed by RCB's Faf du Plessis and CSK's Devon Conway, who scored 730 and 672 runs respectively.

Which players have won the IPL Orange Cap in the past?
Chris Gayle and David Warner have won the most number of Orange Caps in history, two each.
Former Australian international batsman Shaun Marsh won the maiden Orange Cap scoring 616 runs for Punjab Kings in the inaugural edition of the competition in 2008. He played a pivotal role in guiding his team to the semi-final.
Only six Indians have won the award in the past which includes players like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. In fact, the legendary Tendulkar was the first Indian to win the award.
Thereafter, Robin Uthappa, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill have bagged the coveted prize.
Former RCB skipper Kohli distinctly holds the record of scoring the most runs in a season of the IPL. In 2016, the talismanic registered 973 runs as his team reached the final of the competition.
