Waseem breached the landmark in the UAE's tri-series T20I game against Afghanistan, where he smashed six big maximums, surpassing the former Kiwi batter.

Muhammad Waseem overtakes Martin Guptill's big-hitting record

With 176 sixes in international T20s, the UAE's skipper is just behind the Indian legend and T20 World Cup-winning skipper Rohit Sharma, who leads the chart with more than 200 sixes.

Waseem's growth in the shortest format has been immense. Ever since his T20I debut in 2021, it has only taken him four years to enter such an elite list. The batter, moreover, has been the backbone of his side and has played a crucial role in bringing up UAE cricket.
