The 2026 T20 World Cup is a few months away, and defending champions India and Sri Lanka are all set to host the upcoming edition of the grand event
The tournament will be contested by 20 teams and it will be held between February 7 and March 8, 2026. All 20 teams, including co-hosts India and Sri Lanka, have been confirmed for the tournament and Italy are all set to make their debut in the T20 World Cup.

India head into the competition as the defending champions, having won the title in the 2024 edition in USA and West Indies. The Men in Blue, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma, lifted the coveted trophy after a gap of 17 years.
The victory also ended a long jinx for India in ICC competitions as it was their first ICC title since winning the Champions Trophy in 2013.
The tournament also marked the end of the glorious T20I careers of India stalwarts Virat Kohli and Sharma as the legendary duo announced their retirement from the shortest format, just hours after winning the final.

When will T20 World Cup 2026 schedule be announced?
The ICC have confirmed that the schedule for the 2026 T20 World Cup will be formally announced, in collaboration with the BCCI, on Tuesday, November 25 in Mumbai. The programme will commence at 6:30 PM IST and it will be attended by ICC chairman Jay Shah.
According to multiple reports, India and Pakistan are set to be clubbed in the same group once again, alongside USA, Namibia and the Netherlands.
The Men in Blue are liekly open their campaign against USA in Ahmedabad, while the Narendra Modi Stadium will also host the final.
The India vs Pakistan clash could be contested in Colombo as Pakistan won't visit India for the tournament.
