India's wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant suffered a painful toe fracture while trying to reverse-lap England bowler Chris Woakes in Manchester earlier this summer.
The incident happened in the middle of the series after the southpaw had scored two centuries and two fifties in the first three Tests of the Anderson Tendulkar Trophy. He also became the first-ever Indian wicketkeeper to score twin centuries in a single Test at Leeds.

Despite batting again after being hit by the ball, the batter missed out on the final Test. He was also not featured in the Asia Cup or the West Indies Test series and will not be part of the upcoming Australia series.
However, with another Test series left to be played by the end of the year, Pant and his fans can breathe a sigh of relief as the BCCI and the player have now set a date for his return.
When will Rishabh Pant return after his toe fracture?
Having spent over two months out of action, the 28-year-old was recovering from his injury at home and the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru -- in the process, he also missed the domestic red-ball competitions in Duleep Trophy and Irani Cup.
With the Ranji Trophy starting from October 15, the Indian Test vice-captain will likely be back in action during Delhi's round 2 face-off against Himachal Pradesh in Elite Group D.

He is expected to be back in the India Test team when South Africa starts their long tour of India at the Eden Gardens on November 14.
In his absence, Dhruv Jurel also performed well in the series opener against the West Indies, scoring his maiden international century (125 off 210) after a 140(197) vs. Australia A earlier in September.
