Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma out of ICC ODI top 10 batting rankings? ICC confirms glitch image

The latest ICC ODI batting rankings update created quite a stir among cricket fans on Wednesday. Two of India’s biggest names: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, suddenly disappeared from the charts, despite being inside the top five just a week earlier.

Their absence sparked widespread confusion on social media with many questioning whether it was a technical glitch or a deliberate change. Hours later, the ICC stepped in with an official clarification.

ICC admits technical error in ODI rankings update

According to a report by Hindustan Times, an ICC spokesperson confirmed that the governing body's system had malfunctioned. "There was an error in our rankings tables today, but it has been rectified," the spokesperson told the publication.

As of last week's update, Rohit was sitting at No.2 and Kohli at No.4 in the ODI batting charts. The sudden removal of both players led to speculation - particularly since neither has retired nor been inactive in the format.

Both batters have remained central to India's ODI setup. Rohit guided the team to Champions Trophy title earlier this year - scoring a match-winning knock in the final while Kohli was one of the most consistent run-scorers during the group stages.

Given those performances, their vanishing from the rankings made little sense and highlighted just how closely fans monitor these updates.
