Put in to bat, South Africa scored 330 for 8 in their 50 overs. Matthew Breetzke once again stole the show with 85, extending his stunning run of five fifties in as many ODI innings.

England's bowlers had mixed returns. Jofra Archer was the pick with 4/62 while Adil Rashid kept things tight at 2/33.

But the lack of a frontline fifth bowler proved costly as part-timers Jacob Bethell and Will Jacks conceded 112 runs between them. The total is the second-highest in ODI history at Lord's - falling just four short of the all-time record set during the 1975 World Cup.
