India is all set to host the T20 World Cup in 2026 as the defending champions, and the qualification rounds for the tournament are well underway. Sri Lanka will also be the co-hosts of the tournament.

Across the globe, 105 recognized national teams play T20 Cricket and fight for a spot in this tournament, which includes a total of 12 full member countries, while the remaining 93 are associate nations from 6 continents.

How many teams have qualified for the T20 World Cup 2026?

Just like the 2024 edition in the USA and the Caribbean, the 2026 edition of the tournament will have a total of 20 teams fighting for the title.

As of August 12, 2025, a total of 15 teams have qualified for the tournament, with the Netherlands and the first-timers Italy being the latest names to the list — 5 spots are still up for grabs.

Currently, teams across the globe are fighting for their spots in the regional qualifiers that would determine their chances of travelling to India and Sri Lanka.
