Yet, the momentum waned as wickets fell frequently during the middle overs, and India ultimately matched Bangladesh's score by the conclusion of the 20th over.

Comedy of errors

Bangladesh's captain and wicket-keeper, Akbar Ali, unexpectedly failed to run out Harsh Dubey, allowing the Indian batter to score his third century on the final ball, reaching 194 runs. Ali had the ball in hand but inexplicably neglected to dislodge the bails.

During the Super Over, Jitesh Sharma and Ashutosh Sharma were both out on the initial two deliveries, resulting in India being unable to score any runs.

Yasir Ali's wicket was taken by Suyash Sharma on his opening delivery, but his subsequent wide ball resulted in Bangladesh securing the tie.

The Bangladesh A team will now compete against the victor of the upcoming second semi-final match, which features Sri Lanka A and Pakistan Shaheens.

What are the rules of the Super Over?

  1. When the scores are tied, the Super Over begins.
  2. Ten minutes after the second innings end, the Super Over should begin.
  3. During a Super Over, the team that was the second to bat in the main match will bat first, and the side bowling gets to choose the end they'll bowl from.
  4. A trio of batsmen will be selected by each squad, and their innings in the Super Over will conclude if two of them are removed from play at any juncture.
  5. Should the game remain tied after the initial Super Over, a subsequent Super Over will be contested. This process of playing unlimited Super Overs will continue until a victor emerges.
