India’s tour of England got off to a promising start, with the visitors dominating large portions of the first three Tests.

Despite losses at Leeds and Lord's, India had the upper hand in all three Tests, with captain Shubman Gill leading the team from the front in the batting department.

The India captain has already scored three big centuries in the series, while also accumulating the most runs (607) in the series.

In the bowling department, Mohammed Siraj has taken up the responsibility as an experienced bowler and consistently bowled well, especially in Jasprit Bumrah's absence at Edgbaston.

After playing all three Tests, Siraj has 13 wickets to his name as the highest wicket-taker of the series.

After three gripping Tests, Shubman Gill has emerged as the standout batter of the series, while Mohammed Siraj has led India’s bowling charge with consistent performances in key moments.

The India captain began his tenure with a couple of memorable Tests with the bat, scoring three centuries in the first two Tests.

He scored 147 in the first innings of the series and took India to 430/4 at the time of his dismissal. However, India collapsed and got bowled out for 471 in the innings.

His 269 and 161 runs in two innings of the Edgbaston Test saw him break multiple records, like the Indian with the most runs in a Test match and the Indian Test captain with the highest score in an innings, among others.

Mohammed Siraj steps up as leader with the ball

The Indian pacer did not start the series particularly well in Leeds' first innings. However, he looked like a threat in the second innings, despite not being able to pick wickets due to close misses.

In the second Test, he looked in great rhythm and ended the first innings with 6/70, followed by another wicket in the second innings as a second fiddle to Akash Deep, leading India to a 337-run win.

At Lord's, he continued his good form and took 2 wickets in both innings to put India in a pole position to chase 193 and take a lead in the series.

He also put up a gritty 4(30) during the chase after India had lost 9 wickets before Shoaib Bashir dramatically got his wicket to win England the nail-biter.
