Shubman Gill has bounced back from a bout of flu and is set to join the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru ahead of the Asia Cup 2025. The India Test captain had to miss North Zone's opening Duleep Trophy match against East Zone due to illness.
But recent health checks confirmed he is fit to resume training. His return provides a timely boost to India's preparations for the continental tournament in Dubai where the team will face Pakistan, the UAE and Oman in the league stage.

Shubman Gill's fitness and CoE training for Asia Cup 2025
At the BCCI Centre of Excellence, players are undergoing comprehensive fitness assessments to ensure they are in peak condition for the Asia Cup. As per the latest reports, Gill has started his training - focusing on both skill work and overall fitness.
Several Indian players - who featured in the recent Test series against England are also training at the CoE. Hardik Pandya has cleared his fitness tests and resumed full training in Baroda.

Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh and Sai Sudharsan continue to work on strength and conditioning while Mohammed Siraj is expected to join the sessions soon.
Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy is still recovering from an injury sustained during the England tour. Rishabh Pant - who recently had his left foot plaster removed, is focusing on rehabilitation at the CoE.
