Rohit Sharma made a successful comeback to international cricket last month, emerging as the highest run scorer in the series, although India conceded a 2-1 defeat.
In the third ODI, he guided India to a nine-wicket as he scored his 30th ODI century at the age of 38. In the second ODI, Sharma had hit a brilliant half-century.
His marvellous comeback helped the veteran opener to climb to the top of the ICC ODI batting rankings for the first time in his career.

With the T20I series now underway, Sharma has returned to India and is gearing up for his next assignment: a three-match ODI series on home soil against South Africa, starting later this month.
Sharma, who underwent an excellent physical change during the long break after the Indian Premier League 2025 season, is continuing work on his fitness at the twilight of his career.
These days, the Indian legend is often seen visiting the Mumbai Cricket Association gym where he works out alongside the Mumbai Ranji Trophy side.

During one such gym session, Sharma pulled off a hilarious prank on former India and Mumbai Indians team-mate Dhawal Kulkarni.
At the gym, Sharma gave the ace fast bowler a pen and told him to click. Kulkarni, without knowing it was a fake 'shock pen', clicked it and was left startled. Sharma, along with the other players present, had a good laugh.
