Rohit Sharma has recently spoken about India's Champions Trophy 2025 win - but it's what he didn't say that has caught everyone's attention. The veteran opener, who recently lost the ODI captaincy, reflected on India's journey to the title during an event in Mumbai.
While he praised the processes laid down during Rahul Dravid's coaching tenure, he made no mention of Gautam Gambhir, who was India's head coach at the time of the win.

The omission has sparked chatter about a possible rift between the two high-profile figures, especially given the context of recent changes in India's leadership setup.
Rohit Sharma credits Rahul Dravid but skips mentioning Gautam Gambhir
Speaking at the CEAT Cricket Rating Awards, where he was honoured by Sunil Gavaskar, Rohit opened up about the team's long road to success. He credited India's eventual Champions Trophy win to the culture and methods established under former coach Rahul Dravid.
"It's not about one or two years of work. We would come close many times before, and that's when we decided we needed to do something different," Rohit said.
"We followed a simple method - to challenge ourselves, not get complacent, and stay focused. Everyone enjoyed that process. That helped me and Rahul bhai when we planned for the T20 World Cup and later for the Champions Trophy," he added.
However, despite discussing the 2025 Champions Trophy at length, Rohit didn't acknowledge Gautam Gambhir's role as head coach - a detail fans were quick to notice.
Social media users pointed out that Rohit continues to show gratitude toward Dravid, while not once mentioning Gambhir since the leadership transition.
Fans speculate over possible tension between Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir
Rohit's comments have reignited speculation of a possible strain between the two, who have shared an intense professional history since their IPL days. While neither has addressed any reports of friction, the silence was seen by many as deliberate.
The former India captain has since shifted focus to the upcoming Australia tour, calling it "a tough but exciting challenge" for the team. He said India would look to build on their winning momentum and continue playing "fearless cricket."
