Following the exchange, Smith belted Archer for four and then hooked a bouncer into the stands for six - starting a second exchange between the combatants.
When asked about the incident after the match, Smith played a straight bat.
"What history do I have with him (Archer)?" Smith said.
"He was bowling good pace. Not really too sure what he said, not sure what I said either. It’s not really any of your business either so we’ll leave it out there."
